Accra, 18 August 2025 — Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has confirmed that arrests have been made in connection with a recent incident at the Ridge Hospital that sparked public outrage.
The Incident

Minister’s Update
Dr. Okoe Boye told Parliament that some staff members implicated in negligence have been arrested and are under investigation. “The welfare of patients is non-negotiable. Those who fail in their duties will be held accountable,” he stated.

Many Ghanaians remain unconvinced. “Arresting a few people is not enough. The whole health system is broken,” said Nana Aba, a teacher in Accra.
