The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has lamented the absence of Sarah Adwoa Safo, the MP for Dome-Kwabenya in the country.
He said her absence in parliament has stalled many government affairs.
Mr. Boadu's admission comes after a spate of attacks on the MP by some of her colleagues in recent weeks.
In an interview with Accra-based broadcaster Joy FM, John Boadu said that without their presence, they would not be able to gather the necessary number of MPs to pass important government measures in parliament.
"Many decisions that should have been taken long ago are still pending.
"But there is a lot of government work that needs to be moved forward. You do not know when the NDC [National Democratic Congress] will insist that we vote on it, and if we miss an MP it means a certain government program can not go forward," he said Tuesday.

Boadu also said MP Dome Kwabenya's request to become deputy majority leader came as a surprise to party leaders.
"It's not that she was just abandoned. She was appointed minister and she is working. We never received any negative complaints, so it comes as a surprise to some of us," he told Evans Mensah.
According to Mr. Boadu, all options are currently on the table, including triggering the constitutional provision to remove her as MP and declare her seat vacant.
"We are still trying to get our thoughts in order. We are trying to look at a lot of other options that might make her decide whether she wants to join us. If she does not, there are other options we can use," he said.
Adwoa Safo was last seen in parliament in December 2021.
